PAINTING AND DECORATING CONTRACTORS OF AMERICA

The PDCA is an association of painting contractors and suppliers dedicated to the professional painting industry and the growth of your company in the community.

What is the local group of the PDCA?

The Delaware Valley Chapter is one of the largest chapters in the PDCA organization, with over 70 members made up of merit shops from Delaware, Chester and Montgomery counties and several contractors from Philadelphia.  There are also over 60 associate members representing the leading paint manufacturers, and other suppliers, both locally and nationally.

How do they get together?

Meetings are held on the last Monday of the month at The Lamb Tavern, Springfield, PA.  Registration and fellowship begins at 6:30, followed by dinner at 7:00pm and ending with a

or program with guest speakers of interest to the trade.

How does a member benefit?

1.   Through the monthly programs which address the skill and management aspects of the trade.  Topics range from estimating, insurance, computer applications to practical demonstrations of wood graining, marbleizing and high pressure washing.

2.   Trading and sharing experiences on the practical level with those contractors and suppliers who face the same opportunities and problems on a daily basis.

3.   Availability of the literature which is trade specific developed by the national organization, for example, annual estimating guide, craftsman's guide, business management reference manual, apprentice handbooks, etc.

4.   Attendance at regional and national conventions comprised of educational seminars and trade shows.

5.   Seminars on cost accounting, sales, hazardous waste, lead safety, etc.

6.   It is not all business, we generally have a Christmas party, and sometimes attend a ball game or take part in a charity project.

7.   ABOVE ALL, the opportunity to belong to an organization interested in YOUR welfare.

8.   All new members will receive discount booklets from various vendors, worth well over $500.00.

Annually, in the beginning of each year, a national convention is held, usually in a warm weather climate.  The convention has business meetings to provide direction for the national organization, many educational seminars on business management and technical skills, and a huge trade show put on by vendors throughout the country.
